Dear 2020,

Greetings to bolt from the blue!

Do you remember the moment we met first?

F.I.V.E….F.O.U.R….T.H.R.E.E….T.W.O…O.N.E…..with much enthusiasm, I shouted on top of my voice Happy new year!

Yes… I was happy in the first half of the year and awaited another new year in the other half of the year!

Okay! I admit one of my new years I resolved to improve proficiency in English and thanks for all the pain you took to teach me phrases like Quarantine fatigue, Zoom fatigue, Doomscrolling, flattening the curve, herd immunity, cottagecore, and finally blursday into my new normal lifestyle!

Thanks for letting me save money on shopping, theatres, hotels, theme parks, and taking me a tour around the world in others virtual background, but don’t you realize the time wasted the whole year just asking “ Am I audible?” and pleading “Please mute yourself!”?.

Thanks for the opportunity to attend classes comfy in bed, but don’t you realize how stressful it was?

Thanks for teaching me the importance of handwashing, but don’t you realize we had no water to drink?

Thanks for the much-needed break to spend with my family, but don’t you realize how many families starved to death?

Thanks for making us realize walking thousands of miles for migrants was not so far, but don’t you realize they were humans too?

Thanks for all the natural calamities blessed in 2020, you made us realize that humans had no control of our life on earth sucking the last drop of optimism!

Enough is enough!
